Returning to Mexican soil after twenty years was an emotional experience. Its the land of my summers in childhood, and my mother's homeland. Her people are always in my heart and the culture, music, food, traditions has shaped my perspective and my capacity to reach outside of myself. My identity is woven from my American independent spirit, the optimism nurtured by our diverse communities, and the beautiful stories of families in search of our God-given freedom over generations from far away lands. I relish the roots that have pushed across time, lands, and oceans to ground me in who I am and how I love.
